Bass Drum Decals
Many bands put bass drum decals on their drum kits to make their bands known. It is a very effective and low cost way of promoting a band. Usually sporting the band’s name and logo, the audience can easily spot this even from the back row of the club or stadium. Many lesser known musicians employ this to avoid mentioning the name of their group repeatedly during a set.
This may also add visual impact to the show. The best part of this is, it has very little or minimal difference on the sound of the bass drum, since the front head of the bass drum is meant to muffle the sound and not resonate it.
The bass drum decals are very cheap to produce. Anything can be printed on it as long as it is with the same size as the drum head. Even popular artists do this to add presence to their live shows at the same time distinguish their band from the others playing the same venue. Many ask why the sticker is placed on the bass drum and not on any other instrument.
For one, the bass drum is the biggest among all the other band instruments. Secondly, it has a large space, which can be modified and not affect the sound of the instrument. It is also very aesthetically appealing and is not modular. It stays on one spot and almost never moves. The audience can easily read it even while the drummer is pounding away as loud as he can.
